Overview
Training consists of:
This course does train safety team members on:
- Proficiency [shooting] pre-test (if armed)
- Written pre-test
- Classroom lecture
- Practical exercises
- Written final exam
Prerequisite(s): Texas License to Carry Handgun course (license not required)
This course does NOT authorize graduate to provide State Regulated Services, or carry any kind of weapon on private property without effective consent.
Completing this course will help you:
- Protection of students/congregants
- Interaction of with law enforcement
- Tactics for denying an intruder entry into a classroom or church facility
- Methods for increasing a license holder’s accuracy with a handgun while under duress (if armed)
- Deployment of less lethal weapons; baton, OC, CEDs, etc.
Who is the course for?
House of Worship Volunteer Safety Teams are patterned off the Texas School Safety Certification referenced in Texas Government Code §411.1901 and Texas Penal Code 46.03(a)(1)
