Overview
This course certifies the instructor to teach Basic Handcuffing.
(TCOLE Reporting Number 2040)
This course is not handcuff brand or type specific . This is a basic course that covers use of multiple handcuffing techniques. Keep a copy of your training certificate for proof of training.
PREREQUISITE: Student must be a TCOLE/POST certified instructor or graduate of P3TC’s Basic Instructor Course.
Completing this course will help you:
- Teaching
- Nomenclature
- Maintenance
- Practical application from the basic standing, kneeling, and prone positions
- Legal issues
- Use of handcuffs
Who is the course for?
Primarily for Law Enforcement and Security professionals, but other persons may use handcuffs under specific legal conditions.
The State of Texas does not have a statuary requirement to be trained before carrying handcuffs. A person has little chance (in our opinion) of surviving the liability law suits without training and handcuff use policy; this course satisfies that requirement.
