Jason Gushanas
Jason Gushanas retired as a First Sergeant from the U.S. Army after 22 years of distinguished service as an MP (Military Police). His career included roles in law enforcement, corrections and emergency management across the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is now a certified firearms and First Aid Instructor with multiple credentials from the National Rifle Association, American Red Cross and American Heart Association.
OVERVIEW
Anyone who wants to learn to safely use a handgun or get better at handling their handgun. This course is a prerequisite for NRA Basic Pistol Instructors. Students will get the NRA’s The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook.
Completing this course will teach you:
- Firearm safety
- Gun handling
- Various types of handguns
- Fundamentals of marksmanship
- Shooting positions
- Practical exercises on the firing range
- Firearm cleaning
- Firearm storage
- A summary of handgun sports and activites
