INSTRUCTOR:
Ken Lewis
President and Director of Training at the P3TC and the Vice-President of the Texas Handgun Association. He is a Range Master, Firearms Instructor, NRA Training Counselor, NRA Practical Pistol Coach Development Staff, NRA/USA Shooting Shotgun Coach, Training and Shooting Range Consultant, a college professor with active security, military, and law enforcement experience, and formerly a National Shooting Sports Foundation Range Action Specialist.
OVERVIEW
This NRA Instructor Training Course consists of two parts:
Part One: Basic Instructor Training (Exempt if current within two-years. You must send proof of training to Training@P3TCus.com)
Part Two: Basic Rifle Instructor Training

A Basic Rifle Instructor candidate must:
First: Pass the Basics of Rifle Shooting Course. This is listed as Rifle, Basic (NRA) in the P3TC Course Catalog. (Yes, you must attend the basic one-day class. www.P3TC.com. This course cannot be waived.)
Second: Pass the Basic Instructor Training Course, or have completed within two years.
PREREQUISITES: NRA Basic Rifle, Basic Instructor Training (BIT), Basic Rifle Instructor Pre-course Qualification.
Candidates will be provided the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packets.
Completing this course will teach you:
- NRA policies and procedures
- Basic public speaking skills
- Training methodology
- The value of a training team
- Use of training aids
- Organizing a course
- Building a budget
- Preparing to teach
